Yarlong Cultural Festival The Yarlong River, rising in the south of the Shannan Region and joining the Yarlung Tsangpo River at the town of Tsedang, is considered as the symbol of the Shannan Region. Shannan, the cradle of Tibetan culture, hosts the Yarlong Cultural Festival every July and August. The festival is not only a carnival of Tibetan dances, ballads and operas, but a vivid representation of the profound Tibetan culture.
