Lake Paiku

Covering an area of more than 300 square kilometers (about 116 square miles), Lake Paiku is the biggest lake in the Shigatse region. The lake is flanked by mountains on three of its sides, making it a breathtaking sight. Usually wild horses, wild Tibetan donkeys, Tibetan antelopes and other kinds of animals live on the banks of Lake Paiku, providing a picture of nature in harmony.

Lake Paiku may not be as famous as the Heavenly Lake Namtso , Lake Manasarova or Yamdrok Yumtso Lake , but the adjacent Mount Xixabanma and the Yarlong Tsangpo River endow a certain magnificence upon the lake.
