i am wondering whether people of HK and Macao need a Tibet Travel Permit for a present travel in Tibet. I have been informed that since 2002 visitors of HK and Macao are not required for a Tibet Travel Permit but there are still some implying the converse. Any help is highly appreciated, thanks. |

Yes, all residents from HK and Macao do require a Tibet Travel Permit to enter Tibet. We are not allowed to travel on our own. We must be accompanied by a local tour guide for the whole trip. Please check your local China Travel Service agency. Luckily, I am joining a 7 days tour from HK to Tibet next week and they arranged all the paperwork. We also need a China entry card to enter China. |

Hi Sam, You need a Tibet Travel Permit as those who do not have Chinese citizenship, despite a working visa or not. |
