Author: MAAIKE	Dear Eric Lewis, I found your e-mail address on this website, but unfortunately, it didn't work. I would like to ask you if you could help me out. Currently, I am working in Dongguan, China. In July, I am planning to make a tour through China with a friend and we will probable be visiting the following cities: Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Lhasa, Guilin and Yangshuo. I especially could use some help on planning the trip to Tibet. Could you help me to answer the following questions: - Where & how to get the required travel documents for Tibet, how long does this normally take and what are the estimated costs? - What is the best way to travel to Tibet? Probably we will be travelling from Xi'an or Chengdu to Lhasa by plane, but I would also like to know what the possibilities are regarding travelling to Lhasa by bus. - What to do in Tibet (besides of course visiting Lhasa!)? We are not very interested in joining a completely organised tour, since we had some less positive experience with this, and since we are students, we are trying to keep this trip a bit low-budget.
