'The Magic Home' is a tradional large scaled Tibetan dance mixed with beautiful dances and songs. It will be performed in Beijing Baoli Juyuan (Theater) on 26th and 27 th of this month, it is one part of 'Tibet Culture Week' and the first scene performed in public in China. The dance will be performed by the local Chamdo people.

Are these beautiful colorful Khatags used in performance only? I heard that Khatags are white.

Yeah, What you know the white Khatags is common ones that can be seen in Tibet. They not only used in the festive activities, such as celebrations, memorials, weddings, etc. They are often used to send greetings to friends. For example, some young lovers may append a small piece of Khatag in the letters sent to friends. In fact, Tibetans often take along some Khatags when they go out, in case of meeting some familar friends. If you visit Tibet, you'll probably receive one from the hospitable Tibetans.

There are also some colorful Khatags, they often used in some very important and special cases. These Khatags are said to be the costume of Bodhisattva of Compassion, or Kwan-yin. In the traditional wedding ceremonys, These colorful Khatags are used to wrap some betrothal gifts given to the bride.
