 HI i'm planning on going to tibet early dec. 2004. my nationality is Tibetan although i have never been to tibet. i'm a college student in america and right now i'm doing a term abroad program in Shanghai. If there's anyone going at the same time and wouldn't mind travelling together, please contact me. i can speak tibetan so that would be a big plus! hope to hear soon from eager travellers.

hey tenzing, we are a couple from israel who are travelling for a year and might just plan to join you in december, I havent checked yet but is december a good season?
how long do you plan to travel and how would you approximate the costs?

I am afraid that Dec is not the good for visiting Tibet. At that time, it would be very cold and most road will be blocked, even some sites will be colsed. The travel will be very hard...

Hi,
we are a couple from Australia who are looking at arriving in Lhasa from Chengdu sometime from the 15th-17th of December, then spend 4 days in Lhasa acclimatising and organising the 6 day 4x4 trip down the FH via EBC. It will be good to share the cost of the 4x4 with others interested travelling in December. The link below shows that it is not only possible to do the trip in December but it's quite enjoyable:
