 It is said by the Chinese railway department that the railway ticket fares would not rise this year. This is really good for those who want to trek to Tibet by the Tibet railway.

Anyhow, winter is not a hot season for tourism. But every benificial supplements put forwords by the tourism agency and the government make it really a rewarding tour at this time. In fact, many Chinese would prefer not to travel in the holiday golden seasons if they have time. They make a joke that they go then for the crowds bot for the real scenery. In the low season they can enjoy themselves more peacefully and have a full relax. Besides, if you want to spend the Tibetan New Year there, please go there in advance. Because they won't allow tourists in these days. And you can hire a car there, the oil price is decreased, not a headache yet. :)
I'm not adverdise here. :). Anyhow, winter is a severe season. Be prepared well if you go there. Have a good time!
