Dance of Highland is orginally popular in the countryside and the highland areas, then it was spread to Lhasa with the opera, which made it more and more popular in all ranks of people. I know that the dance is often accompanied by a six-string instrument, but flute and other musical instruments are also often used. seemed like a string instrument, I'm not sure though. :( |

Haha, I guess the right thing, the musical instrument is acuturally the six-string instrument, called 'Zha Mu Nian' from transliteration of Tibetan. But it is not the common one. the strings are made from silk thread. and there is a blaze pattern on the instrument, a traditional auspicious picture in Tibet. Turn over the instrument and its big belly will become a tortoise, symbolizing longevity.
