what is the time for ur intended departure?
As the May Day golden week is coming, it would be wise to book ticket beforehand.

There are 4 flights from Hong Kong to Chengdu daily. Or u can choose to fly from Guangzhou or Shenzhen to Chengdu.

What is the air fare from Beijing to Lhasa. Is there a direct or do you have to stop in Chengdu?

There are direct flights from Beijing to Lhasa run regularly, you don't have to stop in Chengdu.
