Hi! I just booked a ticket to fly into Lhasa from Singapore (via Beijing). But I didn't realize that I need a travel permit to visit Tibet, in addition to the tourist visa to China. Do I still need the travel permit, although I will be staying within Lhasa? If I do, could I get the permit at the Lhasa airport? Please let me know. Thank you!!

You should obtain a Tibet travel permit so that the air company can issue you the tickets to Lhasa, otherwise you'll be refused to enter Tibet.

Permit can only be obtained in several cities in China like Beijing, Chengdu and Lhasa. Usually it's impossible to get it by individuals, so you'd better to ask help from a travel service/ agency.

Hi Sandy,

As far as I know, 100 p.p. is the price of the Permit through travel agencies. You might be charged too much:-)
