hi all im presently in china and hoping to go to Lhasa for new years 2005/2006 ps...i know it will be really really cold! if i go, im interested in going out to visit the rongbu monastary, and trekking out on a day trip to the everest base camp, its a 2 hour hike i hear, 4 hour return basically i need to know if it is possible to reach base camp, and the rongbu M at this time of year, first week in january? are roads open, closed, would anybody be willing to make such a tour in the winter, is it far too dangerous, possible etc????.......if you know of good agencies in Lhasa that would do this, please tell me and if anyone knows a good travel agency to book plane tickets to Lhasa and the '3' day tour from Kumming province in China, please let me know... if anyone else has similar mad plans or hopes, please feel free to contact me at matteurohotmail.com thanks in advance, and happy travels all Matt |
