13 days in Tibet(Lhasa, Ganden, Nyingchi, Shigatse, Everest BC, Namtso Lake)- 01/07/06 ====================================== Day 1 Chendu- Lhasa Arrive in Lhasa airport Upon arrival, you will be met and greeted by the Tibetan driver and drive to Lhasa hotel. Check in hotel and take a good rest for the acclimatization. Day 2 Lhasa Morning, visit Drepung Monastery, After that visit Jokang Temple, Bakhor Street. Day 3 Lhasa Morning Visit Potala palace, afternoon visit Sera Monastery Day 4 Lhasa – Ganden Monastery –Nyingchi After breakfast, depart from Lhasa to Ganden Monastery, during the trip passing over the Mila mountain (5200m). After that, drive to Payi Village in Nyingchi. Day 5 Nyingchi (Lunang) Nyingchi Hotel (3 star) Whole day tour in Nyingchi, including the folklore village and antiquity cypress forest (Yarlong Tsangpo) Cypress. Day 6 Nyingchi Morning, visiting Basum-tso (means Water of Aquamarine, 3700m), take lunch in gongpujiang village, then go back to Lhasa. Day 7 Lhasa-Gyantse–Shigatse After breakfast, your adventure begins. Today, we will drive to Gyantse. Gyantse is a famous Tibetan town in the south west of Tibet. Along the way, you will have opportunity to visit the Yomdrok Lake, one of the Holy Lakes in Tibet. Then we will drive to Shigatse. Shigatse is the second largest city of Lhasa and has been an important trading and administrative center. Check in hotel and take rest for the day. Day 8 Shigatse- Tingri Shigatse is well known for its unique Western Tibetan customs and culture. Morning visit the Tshilunpo Monastery, which is the residence of Banchan Lama. It hosts the world largest bronze statue, which was built in 1904 for Qianba Buddha. After that, we will travel through the Western part of Tibet to get to Tingri. The scenery along the way is really fantastic. Day 9 Tringri- to Rongphu Monastery-EBC In the early morning, you will be take environment car over Pangla pass to Rongphu Monastery situated below the giant North Face of Mt. Everest(Other car not allow drive to Rongpuk Monastery, customer must take environment car). You can start trekking to Everest Base Camp (EBC) when you reach Rongpuk Monastery and have a break. Day 10 Rongphu Monastery - Shigatse On the way back to Shigatse we will visit Saga monastery. Day 11 Shigatse- Namtso Lake After breakfast, we will drive to Namtso Lake.Appreciate the landscape of Qing grassland and Nyacheng Tangula Snow mountain and enjoy the evening in Namtso Lake. Day 12 Namtso Lake – Lhasa Early morning, you can do a trekking in Namtso Lake. When return, we will drive to Yangpachen hot spring which is 58 miles north from Lhasa.
