If you want to buy the traditional Tibetan knife as the souvenir, do remember that you can't take it on the plane when you leave, or ask to delieve it. But you can mail it as a package via the post office. The Post office of the Beijing Zhong Lu is the Lhasa General Post Bureau, more reliable and fast and efficient than other small ones. |

The Lhasa Post Bureau is located on the Beijing W. Road, east the Potala Palace. Its open hours is from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. In all regiones and counties, there all have post office. And some big hotels and hostels also can offer the post service.

Yes, they are very good! I sent a parcel from there and despite the much longer way from Tibet it was actually faster than a parcel which I sent from Chongqing a week earlier.... If you choose the cheapest possibility which is surface, parcels can take up to 7 weeks to Europe. |
