My friends and I plan to visit Tibet on Sept 2005 for Shoton festival and will visit Mt.Kailash, Mt Everest and Guge Kingdom for around 2 or 3 weeks. After that we will travel to kathmandu for around 1 week. We would like to

Your plan sounds great!!!
I recommend Litang, in Sichuan Province.
THis is the highest city in the world.
And as you know, Tibetan culture is divided into eastern and western parts with the eastern part its cradle. Litang represents the eastern Tibetan culture. The landscape is marvelous, too!

I'm seeing on a website or two that the Shoton festival may have been rescheduled for early August this year. Anyone know anything about that? We were planning on going in Sept. also.

hi, i am mabel and planning to go tibet end of july or early aug. yes the shoton festival is aug4 this year!! i also want to find friends to go together!! i would go for 4 weeks around tibet first then noth west china- xinjiang, anyone interested to join?can email me at mabelksl@hotmail.com
