i am looking at going to Tibet in March/April for a couple of weeks. Can anyone advise me on the weather at that time of year and whether waiting a month or so would be better for conditions.

Tibet? All Tibet or you actually mean Lhasa? The temperature in north and south of Tibet vary considerably! Anyway April or May is a good time to visit Tibet. Maybe you can get more specified so i can give you some more info? Good luck! |

I think it is quite abstract to say the temperature degrees. Just bring a heavy coat with you. The day could be hot while the night can go down to below freezing point. Also sunblock is absolutely necessary! personally i prefer coat or jacket with a cap and a sweater with long collar since experts say 70% of the body temperature escape from your head!

I'm planning to take a tour to tibet soon. DO you know will the temperature be like between May-June in LHASA, GYANGTSE, SHIGATSE, DINGRI, ZHANGMU? Do I need to dress warm for the cold or dress for summer? |

I'll be going with a group of friend to Lhasa, Nam-Tso Lake, Shigatse, Gyantse, Tsedang end of May & 1st 2 wks of June 05. The temperature should be about 15-20C in the afternoon & 5-10C in the evening/early morning. Sunlight is extreme in the morning/afternoon. Cotton Long sleeve & windbreaker recommended for morning/noon & heavier jacket for night. Caps & sunglasses also recommended. |

I'm thinking about a trip to Tibet in early November 05. Want to do a 5-6 day trek from Tingri to Everest Base Camp. Can anyone tell me what the weather will be like then? Too cold first part of November to do something like this?

Winter is not that cold as you might have thought. From September to the end of October is the one of the two best time to visit EBC. From Nepal, November may be the best time. Good Luck! |

Can't do it in September or October. Only November. Would rather do it from Tibet as I've trekked in Nepal already and want to see something new. Is a trip to Everest Base Camp from Tingri doable in November? Would I be able to line up a guide/porter during that time? Any advice would be appreciated. Thx
