How fit is fit? Without going treking but just normal sightseeing and considering the altitude how fit should one be? I am late fifties so curious if I should go or not . I walk briskly 1/2 an hour most days! Will I be OK? I 'd love to go but don't want to hold up the tour?

Hi Jane, for normal sightseeing your fitness should be good enough. Im sure you are on an organized tour so you wont have the troubles of backpacking in your age anymore. You dont need to climb mountains or run up the stairs. Just be careful the first days and take your time whatever you do. Organized tours should also be prepared for possible problems. So I would recommend a Tibet trip to my parents, too. |
