Hi There, We met Tsebho in Shangri-la October 2005, he left us e-mail and phone numbers, but apparently they have changed. Anybody knows how to get in touch with him. Tsebho, I saw you have been on this Forum last November, if you read this contact me at armando@mergeway.hk. Anybody knows how to contact him kindly let us know. We would like to plan a new trip with him, he is a great fellow and we had an unforgetable time with him. |

GAR is a city, there are a few names for it: SHIQUANHE and ALI, but the information about this town is very confusing..

I see Ali is acturally a region in the northwest of Tibet. It is also named 'Ngari'. Shiquanhe is the administrative town of the region. I think traveling to this area is a challenging experience. Look at this link to find the details: http://www.tibettrip.com/cityguide/ngari.htm |

Hallo, I plan next year (August-December) bicycle expedition on Tibet (probably from Kashgar to Lhasa). Knows anybody what is the current situation concernig enter in Tibet for independent travellers ? Is possible enter in Tibet over checkpoints and get permit e.g. in Ali (pay fine, of course), or isn't do it as before 2008 ? Thanks for any news. |
