Flights of Chengdu-Nyingchi to Increase to Five Shifts a WeekPublished : 9:57 P.M. EST, Mar 6, 2007 It is reported that to meet the rise of the air market demand, Air China plans to increase another two aircrafts of A319 and one of A330 between Nyingchi and Chengdu in 2007, thus the scheduled flights will be raised from two to five from the late March this year.Nyingchi Airport, which is said to demand the most on the wingmanship among all the Chinese airports, was launched in September of 2006 and opened the airline to Chengdu first. Due to the low altitude and pleasant climate of Nyingchi, the region is often selected as the first destination for travelers to acclimatize themselves in Tibet. So even the 'Gold Bridge in the Sky of the Roof the World'–Chengdu-Lhasa Airline, which is also operated first by Air China, cannot satisfy the needs of all travelers itself. Chengdu-Lhasa Airline has the safety records for 42 years until March, 2nd this year. At present, the flights in Tibet operated by Air China have reached to over 90 shifts per week on average, and the transport capacity has increased from over 4,000 passengers in 1965 to 787,000 in 2006.?????? · Tibet Weather to Become Better This Week - 2:31 A.M.
