EST, May 10, 2007 The Luopa Minority & Tibetan Medicine Cultural Festival will be held in Miling County, Nyingchi on May 28th, when visitors can see various splendid performances of Luopa Minority and exhibitions of Tibetan medicine. Luopa is the minority that has the least population in China, who are mostly concentrated in Nanyi Village of Miling. The research of Tibetan Medicine in Miling, which can be dated back to 7th century, also has a long history. In addition, the blooming yellow peonies in May in Zhagonggou Ditch, Nanyi Village are also in the favor of visitors. To display all of these distinctive cultures and tourist resources, the local government has decided to hold the Luopa Minority & Tibetan Medicine Cultural Festival this year. The activities of the festival include the display of Tibetan and Luopa art performances, costumes, and other folk cultures, visiting folk villages, exhibition of the culture of Tibetan Medicine, as well as seeing wild yellow peonies.
