With the opening of the Tibet Railway, especially the coming of the warm weather these days, the toursits to Tibet are increased day by day. But the mountain sickness is really a problem. Here are some expert tips.
The representative of the Tibet train says that there are 22 hours that the train are traveling between the high altitue of 3000-5000 meters, when it is very easy for the travelers to feel hard to breathe. From Golmu to Mount kunlun the altitue rises rapidly and after mount Kunlun the high altitudes last for a very long time. So travelers to Lhasa had better to stop in Xining, the capital of Qinghai, 2200 meters high, for one or two days to adapt to it, and then stop in Golmu for one or two days to decide whether to continue the journey.
Travelers to tibet must have a body examination first before entering Tibet, whether a cold or overfatigue should be avioded. We should be relieved and relaxed when traveling in Tibet.
For any other problems, you can refer to the TRAVEL TIPS, or MOUNTAIN SiCKNESS in this website. or ask the experienced travlers here.
