Potala Palace: Snow City to Open in May 1st

Recently, the repair work of the three key cultural relics of Tibet, Potala Palace, Norbulingka and Sakya Monastery, is carried on smoothly. It is said that the Snow City of Potala Palace will be opened in May 1^st, and the whole project will be finished at the end of this year.

Potala Palace, with a long history of over 2,700 years, is the world heritage site. Norbulingka, originally built in 1751, is the highest, largest and most complete garden in the world. And the Sakya Monastery is the main temple of the Sakya sect of Tibetan Buddhism. For their high historical and cultural values, the central government of China had invested a total of 330 million CNY to renovate these buildings since June, 2002.

The repair work of these buildings includes the groundwork, the main buildings, the surrounding buildings, the outer walls and the murals.
