Nakchu: Changtang Qiaqing Horse Racing Festival Unveils

On Aug.10^th, the annual traditional festival of Nakchu – Changtang Qiaqing Horse Racing Festival had its grand opening ceremony in Nakchu Town. The festival will last until Aug.16^th.

Nakchu, located in the northern plateau of Tibet, has its own distinctive scenery and culture, such as the extensive pasture, the tent house, the folk dressings, songs and dances. This festival is the most famous horse-racing festival held in Tibet, and is often the must-see for travelers to Tibet during this period.

The festival will focus on the traditional equestrianism performances, with additional art performances, local product exhibitions and other various activities.
