
Tibet Railway: Train Tickets to Sold 10 Days ahead from Jun. 14th
From Jun. 14th, the pre-sale period for the train tickets on Tibet Railway will be changed into 10 days in advance.
There is a balanced transition period before the date of implementation. On Jun. 9th, tickets of Jun. 13th and Jun. 14th are available; on Jun. 10th, tickets of Jun. 15th and Jun. 16th are available; on Jun. 11th, tickets of Jun. 17th and Jun. 18th are available; on Jun. 12th, tickets of Jun. 19th and Jun. 20th are available; on Jun. 13th, tickets of Jun. 21st and Jun. 22nd are available, and from Jun. 14th, tickets will be available 10 days ahead.

Hainan Airlines: Wuhan-Lanzhou-Lhasa Air Route to Open as of Jun. 15th
Hainan Airlines will open the Wuhan-Lanzhou-Lhasa Air Route as of Jun. 15th.
The whole air route will be operated by HU7456, with flight departures on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday per week. The plane will take off at 10:55 in Wuhan, and arrive in Lanzhou at 12:50, then after 40 minutes' pause, it will continue the journey until arrive in Lhasa at 16:00. The round-trip flight will start at 17:05 and pause at 19:35, then continue at 8:10 and stop at 10:05.
Until Jun. 30th, a preferential price will be promoted by the airlines.

Tibet Museum to Open for Free on Jun. 9th
On Jun. 9
th, the 'World Heritage Day' of China, the
Tibet Museum in
Lhasa will be open for free to visitors.
It will be the second 'World Heritage Day' of China, the theme of which is 'protect the world heritages and construct a harmonious society'. During this day, all the museums of China will free open to the public.
To widely spread the theme, one that day the Tibet Museum will hand out brochures or handbills about the introduction of Tibet Museum, Tibetan collections, and rules on protection of cultural relics at the square of
Potala Palace and the exhibition hall of the museum. In addition, there are also free guides in the museum for visitors.

Ngari Airport Starts to Built
The fourth airport of Tibet, Ngari Kunsha Airport had started to be built on Jun. 4th. The airport is planned to be launched on Oct. 1, 2010.
The airport is 4,280 meters (14,042 feet) high above the sea level, with the runway of 4,500 meters (2.8 miles) long. It will allow B757 – 200, A319 and other 200 types of airplanes to take off and land in the near future.

Tourist Service Center of Potala Palace Opened
To make it easy to see Potala Palace, the Tourist Service Center, located in the newly opened Snow City below the palace, was formally opened on Jun. 1st.
The Tourist Service Center mainly provides video display about the introduction and layout of the Potala Palace, as well as the attractions of the Snow City. Visitors can also consult practical tourist information here.
The hall allows almost 100 people to watch videos together. The opening time is from 8:30 to 16:00 and may vary on conditions.

Nyingchi: The Third Tourist Festival of Great Canyon of Yarlung Tsangpo River Unveils
The third Tourist Festival of Great Canyon of Yarlung Tsangpo River in Nyingchi had begun since May 28th, and will last to Oct. 17th.
With the opening of Tibet Railway and Nyingchi Airport, more and more visitors have come to Nyingchi. To enrich the activities of travelers, Nyingchi has planned the festival.
During the festival, various activities will be presented, such as Miling Luopa Minority & Tibetan Medicine Cultural Festival, the first Ecological and Cultural Tourist Festival, Thousand-mile Self-driving Tours from Jun. 15th to Aug. 15th, Yarlung Tsangpo River Drifting from Sep. 11th to Oct. 7th, and Folk Culture Tourist Festival of Basum Lake.?
