Chengdu/Chongqing Trains to Lhasa to Transfer in Xining

To increase the passenger transport capability of Tibet Railway during the peak season, China Ministry of Railway has decided to readjust the operation of Tibet trains from Aug.1st to Oct.20th

Recently, a temporary train between Xining and Lhasa is increased. Due to the special demand on the train running on the plateau, it is hard to produce an amount of these trains in a short time. So the railway department devises means of separating the running route to enlarge the transport capability.

During the above period of time, trains between Chengdu and Lhasa (T22/23, T24/21) and Chongqing and Lhasa (T222/223, T224/221), will run separately between Chengdu/Chongqing-Xining and Xining-Lhasa. When arriving at Xining Railway Station, passengers will be guided to transfer into another train, with the numbers of carriage, seat or berth remaining the same.

The charge, ticket selling, departure time and other aspects of the trains will all remain the same. And changes on the schedules will be told at the local railway stations.
