
Xining-Lhasa Temporary Train to Run from Aug.1st
According to Qinghai-Tibet Railway Company, the temporary train between Xining and Lhasa will be put into service from Aug.1st.
The principal of the railway company says that No. N919 Train (Xining-Lhasa) will be increased between Aug.1st and Oct.17, while No. N920 Train (Lhasa-Xining) will be increased between Aug.2nd and Oct.18. As to the ticket, Xining Railway Station will sell the ticket of No. N919 Train on the date of Aug.1st and Aug.2nd on Jul.25th, the date of Aug.3rd and Aug.4th on Jul.26th, and the date of Aug.5th on Jul.27th, Lhasa Railway Station will sell the ticket of No. N920 Train on the date of Aug.2nd and Aug.3rd on Jul.25th, and the date of Aug.4th on Jul.26th, while after Jul.26th, the ticket will be sold 10 days in advance as others.

Lanzhou-Lhasa ticket in Demand Now
According to Gansu Provincial Tourism Bureau, with the coming of Chinese summer holiday, tickets of airplane, train and coach from Lanzhou to Lhasa are all in demand now. So travelers to Tibet from Lanzhou by air and train should book the ticket several days in advance, while the coach ticket can only be bought on the departure date.
At present, there is one train (No.K917) departing from Lanzhou to Lhasa every other day and three trains (No.T165/265, T23/223, T27) stopping in Lanzhou every day. And one flight (HU7457) runs between Lanzhou and Lhasa every day. According to the suggestions of the railway station and the airport, 10 days and 5 days in advance is needed respectively to book the train and airplane tickets. As to the coach ticket, there is one shift of coach every day, and the coach station only sells the ticket of the departure date, or the next date if the ticket sold out.

Chongqing – Lhasa Train (No.T222) to Pause Running after Aug.1st
According to Chongqing Railway Station, Chongqing-Lhasa Train (No.T222) will pause running after Aug.1st, and from Jul.21st to Aug.1st, the train does not stop at the stations between Chongqing and Golmud.
Stations between Chongqing and Golmud include Xining, Lanzhou, Baoji, Xian, Dazhou and Guangan. The Chongqing Railway Station tells that the ticket of Aug.1st can still be bought, while when the train will recover is not decided yet. So travelers to Tibet from Chongqing after Aug.1st will have to take the airplane or coach.

Tibet Weather Forecast: Rainy Season Coming
According to Meteorological Station of Tibet, recently the whole Tibet has been in the rainy season, which is also the period of frequent geological disasters.
Since July, Lhasa, Shigatse, Nakchu, Nyingchi and other regions have all been hit by continuous rainfalls. Due to the heavy rains, debris flows had twice attacked the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, which greatly affected the transportation there.

Chinese Airlines Competing to Increase Flights to Tibet
Coming with the peak season of Tibet travel, Chinese Airlines are competing to increase flights to Tibet to meet with the flow of travelers there. At the same time, many airlines only offer full-price tickets now.
Since July, many flights have been added to facilitate the travel to Tibet. For example, Southern China has increased Guangzhou-Chongqing-Lhasa Air Route to one flight a day. And Sichuan Airlines has increased another flight between Guangzhou and Xining. Other air routes that have been opened in advance include Hainan Airlines' Lhasa-Lanzhou Air Route, Eastern Airlines' Lhasa-Xian Air Route and Air China's Lhasa-Xining Air Route.
It is said that the high season of Qinghai-Tibet travel is expected to last to this October.

Tibet Railway: New Xining-Lhasa Train to Increased in August
According to Qinghai-Tibet Railway Company, another Xining-Lhasa train will be increased during the peak travel season of Chinese summer holiday (July-September), when there will be a shift of train every day from Xining to Lhasa.
At present, there are trains from Lhasa to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Xining and Lanzhou, among which only Beijing-Lhasa train is operated every day while others are every other day. After the opening of the new train between Xining and Lhasa, it will be the second route that has daily train.
Now the Ministry of Railways has granted the plan, and the train is expected to open in August.
