Free Tibet Glacier Mineral Water Offered on D Trains

Published : 3:51 A.M. EST, Aug 3, 2007
To further improve the service and highlight its distinctive feature of the D trains, China Ministry of Railway has decided to offer '5100 Tibet Glacier Mineral Water' to the passengers for free.

From Aug.1st, passengers with a ticket or an endorsed railway travelcard will receive a bottle of mineral water on the long-distance and Beijing-Beidaihe D trains.

The Tibet Glacier Mineral Water originates from the foot of the 5,100 m. (16,732 ft.) - high Mt. Nyainqentanglha, where the water has flowed for over 8 years deep underground without any contamination, and thus is mixed with various minerals and microelements of an excellent quality. The water has begun to enter the hinterland of China after the opening of Tibet Railway, and the railway department plans to undertake the task of transporting the water for a long term, and will gradually offer them free to passengers on D trains.
