Tibet Weather Forecast: Rain and Cold Air to Hit Tibet

Published : 3:36 A.M. EST, Sep 18, 2007
According to Tibet Meteorological Observatory, during the earlier three days of this week, it will be sunny and cloudy within most regions of Tibet, while during the later days, precipitation will increase and the temperature will fall down by 2 oC (35.6oF) more or less.

Earlier than September 19th, it will be fine in the major areas except that showers will appear in Ngari and the South Shigatse. From September 20th to September 23rd, abundant precipitation is expected in Tibet. There will be light rains or sleets or isolated moderate rains and snows in the southern boundary areas, Nakchu, Nyingchi and Chamdo. In the rest areas, it will be cloudy and overcast, with isolated light rains or sleets.

The meteorological experts remind that the rainy season has not concluded yet, so the water level of rivers is possible to rise again, and there are still potential natural disasters such as landslide, debris flow and flood in East Tibet and other regions.
