Reconstruction on Chamdo Bamda Airport StartsPublished : 3:22 A.M. EST, Sep 30, 2007 The ground-breaking ceremony for reconstruction on Chamdo Bamda Airport in Tibet, the highest civil airport in the world, was held on September 29th.The project is one of the key subjects of Tibet's 11th Five-Year Plan (2005 - 2010), which includes the regeneration on the broken runway and the airport facilities. The whole project is expected to be finished before October 1st, 2009. In addition, during this five-year period, Tibet will pay more attention to the building of Ngari Airport, the recovery of Shigatse Airport and the regeneration of Lhasa Airport.
