Qinghai-Tibet Railway to Speed Up

According to Lhasa Railway Station, with the national speed-up of Chinese railways from Apr.18, the running time of trains from Lhasa to Xining will be shorten by more than 2 hours, while the return trip will be shorten by more than 1 hour.

At the same time, the departure time of Train N918 (Lhasa -Xining) will be changed from 9:32 to 11:20, while Train N917 (Xining-Lhasa) changed from 20:07 to 20:28.

Though the Tibet Railway has some changes in the schedule, ticket fees and routes of the trains will remain the same. In addition, the railway still does not sell tickets without seats and oxygen is still provided during the trip between Lhasa and Golmud, Qinghai.
